More Canton West Info

The Canton West story broke last week, and now I wanted to give you a few more details on this projected mixed use development. Here are a few tidbits I’ve dug up since last week:
- Approximately 4,000 residential units are planned for Canton West being made up of single family homes, townhomes and condos.
- There will be 449,100 square feet of retail space.
- There will be 149,700 square feet of office space.
- Prices of the residential units will range from the $100,000’s to the $800,000’s.
- A 7 mile parkway will run through the property connecting Ga 5 and Ga 108.
- Included in the master plan is a new regional water and sewer treatment plant that is planned to serve the entire development and the surrounding area.
- Developers are working with the Cherokee School Board to find sites in the area for 4 new schools.

Would like info on the Canton West Connector.. I live on North Etowah Dr and it will effect me in many ways… So if you could email me any or all info you have on when it might get underway or just anything I would greatly appreciate it… I’m sitting on land that could be a frontage point with the Connector and want to know the effect on my land it could have… Thanks you.

Well, there isn’t a start date yet as the project still hasn’t received a full go ahead from the county. You both may be interested in attending the Cherokee County Planning Commission meeting on June 5th. They will be discussing the Canton West proposal. The meeting will take place on the lower level of the Canton Courthouse at 7:00 PM.
Also, since part of the project is in the city of Canton, the Canton City Planning Commission will be having a meeting on June 18 at Canton City Hall at 7:00 PM.

Where exactly is this supposed to be? What does “Canton West” mean? I need some landmarks — like a store or a restaurant… how do you get there from 575?
