Large Mixed Use Development Planned For West Cherokee County

Located just north of Lake Allatoona in both Bartow and Cherokee counties, and bordered by Army Corp of Engineering property, Developer Stephen Macauley, the same developer who brought us Harmony on the Lakes, is planning a 4,000 acre mixed use development.

Included in this project would be two town centers, each with a mix of single family houses, townhomes and apartments. Also included would be retail and commercial elements and about 1,300 acres of green space. It will take between 10-20 years to complete, but when all is said and done, 12,000 residential units will be built.

On Thursday, April 13th, there will be a town hall meeting at the City of Woodstock Community Center to discuss the new Rope Mill Interchange that is planned for Interstate 575. The meeting will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

The Enclave At Woodmont

Just this month, John Weiland Homes started offering homes in their special section of Woodmont Golf & Country Club called The Enclave at Woodmont. These new homes are surrounded by the 1st, 3rd, 17th and 18th fairways of the Roger Trent Jones-designed 18 hole golf course. Priced from the mid $500s, homes in the Enclave surround a central park area with benches and walking paths that are perfect for spending time outdoors. Both traditional two story and terrace level plans from Wieland’s acclaimed Signature Series offer homebuyers gourmet kitchens with custom cabinetry and granite countertops, built in bookshelves and cabinets in the family room, and a spa bath in the first floor owners suite.

Models Open At The Village At Towne Lake

Things are coming along very nicely over at The Village at Towne Lake. There have been a few changes since my original post. There are no longer going to be townhomes in this development. The number of houses, according to the sales agent today, is going to be a little under 300, instead of the original 325 I had mentioned.

I toured 4 models, which are open and ready to be viewed right now. These models are in the Courtyard Collection. These are single family homes, but they are attached by a wrought iron gate in the front and back which encloses the courtyard for each home. These floor plans and the courtyards are truly amazing. The courtyard can come with a small spa with a fountain or an outdoor fireplace. One of the models even has both, and boy is that impressive. The four plans are named:

  • The Coquille
  • The Mackinac
  • The Huntington
  • The Pocantico

The Pocantico is one level and has a master suite and a second bedroom. There are two bathrooms, kitchen, living room and a two car garage. One of the neatest features of all four of the plans is an office/study which has an entrance off the courtyard and not the house. The Coquille, Mackinac and Huntington all have a second floor which has two more bedrooms separated by a jack and jill bathroom.

All of the homes in the Courtyard Collection have hand laid cobblestone entries, driveways and patios. They come with a 42″ wall mounted plasma EDTV in the family room, granite counter tops, 12″ baseboards throughout the main level, and many more features. The prices start in the low $340’s and go to the low $400’s.

All of the homes in the Courtyard Collection are also sensibly built for the envirnoment and are members of the green building program called EarthCraft House.
